Day 31.
Preface.
This pic is from 1997.
I was a wee 17 years old.
Who cares about my date.
He was no one special in my life.
Just a date.
Last night I discovered this pic while unearthing old school pics.
R and I chuckled a good laugh.
It was funny.
Apparently I forgot to tuck the pre-daddy pic away before the morn.
Fast forward to this morning...
I'm in the kitchen doing mommy duties and I turn around to Hadlee staring me down holding above pic.
It went down like this....
Hadlee: "Um mommy, is this daddy?"
Me: "No honey that's not daddy."
Hadlee: "Were you marrying him mommy?"
Me: "No honey I wasn't."
Then I begin to explain prom and dates and it went above her head and I tried my hardest to keep the lingo appropriate for a four year old.
That's when I finally said a few not so appropriate things like he was a strange guy and that's why he's not your daddy.
She seemed satisfied with such answer.
She walked away and I carried on.
As I left the kitchen and passed by the dining room table...I see the picture (still framed which is quite funny) standing up in the middle of the table as if it were our center piece of the day.
And that is where is stayed for the duration of the day.
I apparently should have removed the pic.
Rylan arrived home from school.
It went down like this...
Rylan: "Mommy, is this daddy?"
I proceed to explain again that nope that's not daddy but a date for a dance.
He didn't question me any further but proceeded to give me a dirty look.
Apparently they are partial toward their daddy.

B - you went to junior prom with Colin Strickland? How did I not know that?
